Oh that God would give every mother a vision of the glory and splendor of the work that is given to her when a babe is place in her bosom to be nursed and trained! Could she have but one glimpse in to the future of that life as it reaches on into eternity; could she look into it's soul to see its possibilities; could she be made to understand her own personal responsibility for the training of this child, for the development of its life, and for its destiny,--she would see that in all God's world there is no other work so noble and so worthy of her best powers, and she would commit to no others hands the sacred and holy trust given to her." -JR Miller

Things aren't all bad :-)

Thought the last couple of posts have been a little negative - very real but without pointing out the positive very well, so thought I'd type up a quick post to let you know how we've been doing "school" wise - now we're not really doing anything formal but I discovered this great website with ideas on a calendar wall - I have never been able to find a "calendar" that suits us as a family but this is great so I printed things out and we sing about the weather and days of the week etc!

we also downloaded the skip counting carts so we can recite them, help us learn, we're ok up to 10 with the 2's so hopefully the chart will help us get confident up to 20.

We signed up for the grow your own potatoes scheme so have been learning about those

A pic of our potatoes chiting!
