Oh that God would give every mother a vision of the glory and splendor of the work that is given to her when a babe is place in her bosom to be nursed and trained! Could she have but one glimpse in to the future of that life as it reaches on into eternity; could she look into it's soul to see its possibilities; could she be made to understand her own personal responsibility for the training of this child, for the development of its life, and for its destiny,--she would see that in all God's world there is no other work so noble and so worthy of her best powers, and she would commit to no others hands the sacred and holy trust given to her." -JR Miller

Family Bathtime

I don't know about any of you but "some" of my children seem to develop a real dislike for baths after about a year which lasts for differing amounts of time - well this has happened to my youngest and the last couple of months baths have been at a minimum and then a quick dunk, wash hair (all while she is screaming) then out as quick as possible on to the comforting stage - not really a pleasant experience for anyone!
So, this morning, (and I have no idea why I didn't think of this sooner) I decided to take her in the bath with me. I know some people relish baths with their babies but as I don't really like baths much (I'm much more of a shower person) I'm afraid I don't do much of the bathing with baby, though they have all had at least one bath with me at some stage.
We were up early, by 6am the bath was run and we had a lovely bath together - she wasn't too keen at first but being able to hold her close as she was in the bath really did help and we managed a nice peaceful bath for the first time in a while.
Of course my 3yo decided to wake up and come join us too so we had 3 in the bath (and it's not a big bath lol) but all in all it was a very pleasant start to the day, and I thoroughly recommend it for those of you who have problems with babies at bathtime!
