Oh that God would give every mother a vision of the glory and splendor of the work that is given to her when a babe is place in her bosom to be nursed and trained! Could she have but one glimpse in to the future of that life as it reaches on into eternity; could she look into it's soul to see its possibilities; could she be made to understand her own personal responsibility for the training of this child, for the development of its life, and for its destiny,--she would see that in all God's world there is no other work so noble and so worthy of her best powers, and she would commit to no others hands the sacred and holy trust given to her." -JR Miller

Keeping Focused

How easy it is to lose our focus - when we're taking a photograph and it's out of focus it's obvious immediately but in life when we take our focus off Jesus it takes a while sometimes for us to realise.

I have to admit with my current situation I'm frequently taking my eyes off my Saviour and focusing on my circumstances - with a new baby who breastfeeds quite regularly, and a house that needs a serious declutter plus children with character issues and homeschooling challenges its too easy to forget the eternal and look at the temporary.

16Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
2 Corinthians 4

I'm praying that that will be my verse to focus on in the coming weeks and will help me keep my focus in the right place!

But our God is so gracious, and is more forgiving of our circumstances than we are ourselves.
He treats us with such kindness at these times. I am past that stage :-(
and have so much more time I *could* be using more profitably....THAT makes me much more sad than thinking back to these busy, busy times when I genuinely had so little time.
Don't be too hard on yourself. We serve a loving, gracious and merciful God.
God bless you

Thank you all, I am finding it a struggle but when I think about it logically the time will pass so quickly - thank the Lord for His grace :-) xx
