Oh that God would give every mother a vision of the glory and splendor of the work that is given to her when a babe is place in her bosom to be nursed and trained! Could she have but one glimpse in to the future of that life as it reaches on into eternity; could she look into it's soul to see its possibilities; could she be made to understand her own personal responsibility for the training of this child, for the development of its life, and for its destiny,--she would see that in all God's world there is no other work so noble and so worthy of her best powers, and she would commit to no others hands the sacred and holy trust given to her." -JR Miller

When Chldren Pray

We are having transport problems and have been for a while, so we can't go far and often the car starts playing up but I have found that it's a great tool for helping the children pray, a couple of Sundays ago we were on our way to church, just me and the children as Daddy had a job somewhere and halfway there the car started juddering so I piped up "Come on children, get praying that we can get to church ok" which they did and we arrived safely and the trip home was problem free! Then just this week we'd taken Abigail to be weighed (she'd put on almost a pound thanks to the solids she is now having) and on the way back, halfway out of a quiet junction (I try to choose the quietest routes) the car died, after a couple of minutes/seconds my eldest daughter pipes up "The car will start now Mummy, cos I've prayed" so I tried the car and yes it started - woohoo I love it when prayers are answered - now to help them realise that praying to God isn't the same as having a "wish fairy" ...............

It is so beautiful how God answers the prayers of children. It is important to teach them that God isn't a wish fairy, but the Lord will help you with that as well, especially if they havn't been raised on fairy tales.

Hooray! God DOES answer prayer- how wonderful to let daily life be a time to teach your little ones about the power of prayer!!

It is great when the kids realise that God is real and really hears their prayers! Of course we have had the same problems with some of our foster children who tell others 'Just ask magic Jesus and he will change your eyes from brown to blue!' yikes! Lots of straightening out of their theology to do............ ;o)
