Oh that God would give every mother a vision of the glory and splendor of the work that is given to her when a babe is place in her bosom to be nursed and trained! Could she have but one glimpse in to the future of that life as it reaches on into eternity; could she look into it's soul to see its possibilities; could she be made to understand her own personal responsibility for the training of this child, for the development of its life, and for its destiny,--she would see that in all God's world there is no other work so noble and so worthy of her best powers, and she would commit to no others hands the sacred and holy trust given to her." -JR Miller

Creative Children

Sometimes I worry that I'm not doing enough for my children - but these worries are soon replaced with pride when I actually step back and look at their achievements, talents and progress.

I honestly believe they will have a much better chance of becoming the people they are meant to be without being "stifled" in the school environment!

Just today my eldest daughter took a picture of snowman (printed out by Nanny) and turned it into a hanging decoration, putting black jacks (sweets) in it - her own initiative, nobody gave her the idea, she just saw the picture and made the decision to create this paticular decoration.

How blessed am I to have been given such creative children? Are you surprised to know that she wants to be a fashion designer? Her mind has not changed in the last 2 years so we are working towards her learning sewing skills etc, which can only be a help in life even if ideas vary as she gets older! But how amazing to have the opportunity to encourage this side of her and not be restrained by school!

Hi, I've just found your blog. Good to see the blog of another UK home educator.
