Oh that God would give every mother a vision of the glory and splendor of the work that is given to her when a babe is place in her bosom to be nursed and trained! Could she have but one glimpse in to the future of that life as it reaches on into eternity; could she look into it's soul to see its possibilities; could she be made to understand her own personal responsibility for the training of this child, for the development of its life, and for its destiny,--she would see that in all God's world there is no other work so noble and so worthy of her best powers, and she would commit to no others hands the sacred and holy trust given to her." -JR Miller

Light Bulb Moment

I had a "light bulb" moment over the weekend - you know when something you already know and maybe have even spoken about suddenly clicks and takes on a personal meaning!
It's funny really, bearing in mind that I have been married for almost 13 years, we have 5 beautiful children and I have been a stay at home wife/Mum for the last 10 years.
Let me explain

I have been on a mission to declutter my house - a challenging pregnancy and then constant breastfeeding had certainly taken a toll on the state of my house - my older children are not quite there yet with being able to keep up with housework and although my husband does his best he runs a business so is kept very busy with that!

On Saturday it was Deborah's 3rd birthday (time is really flying) and I was doing a big clean up ready for visitors, as I walked through my now tidy hallway it felt soooo nice, no clutter (it's been cluttered for a while) and it suddenly dawned on me.........................if I want my house to stay like this it's up to me!!! It's totally and utterly my responsibility!
Don't get me wrong I believe in training children and people helping out but the bottom line is - it's my job! I'm like the manager of the home (and yes I've read the book managers of the home and still didn't quite get it) so whatever happens, is down to me, to either do or delegate!

You would often hear me say "if I don't do it, it won't get done" and I've often got so stressed that my house is a state, blaming everyone but myself!!!
I'm not saying that I'm suddenly going to turn into the "perfect housewife" or am I going to say that I'll never say those words again but I have a fresh revelation of running my house and keeping things in order! .

Here is a picture of the newly organised chidlren's bedroom

and one of my newly organised corner of living room - I was fortunate to inherit a new unit when my friend moved - it's made such a difference!!! It doesn't look like clutter anymore!!

We're working on the school room now - watch out for pics hehe

Well done! Looks great! Certainly is easier to think in a less cluttered environment! My mind goes into melt-down when there's too much clutter around!
