Oh that God would give every mother a vision of the glory and splendor of the work that is given to her when a babe is place in her bosom to be nursed and trained! Could she have but one glimpse in to the future of that life as it reaches on into eternity; could she look into it's soul to see its possibilities; could she be made to understand her own personal responsibility for the training of this child, for the development of its life, and for its destiny,--she would see that in all God's world there is no other work so noble and so worthy of her best powers, and she would commit to no others hands the sacred and holy trust given to her." -JR Miller

Mothering Sunday

I know that I haven't been as regular blogging recently, it kinda slips down the list of priorities with our growing family :-) but I couldn't let today pass without just a little post.

What does Mothering Sunday mean to you? For some women its a day to relax and be waited on by loved ones, for others its a reminder that they are yet to be mothers and brings pain and for some it's a reminder that we've lost loved ones.

For me, it's a day to remember that God created women (as well as men) in His own image - and that us with all our little quirks are wonderfully made - the way babies often make us broody and how we like the small details - our love of homes and pretty things - the hormones and mood swings they may bring - oh women really are complex creatures.

We have had a lovely mothers day, a shower for me in peace (oh the bliss) lunch prepared for me - I even had time to sit with a book relaxing for 5 minutes while lunch was being prepared - I feel so blessed God has given us 6 children and we love each one dearly - it doesn't mean that we are better than those God has blessed with less children - just we are on a different path - I love how we can relax in God and know that He will do the best for us that no matter what we go through He is working it all through for our ultimate good.
How amazing to serve such a majestic, all knowing God .

Happy Mother's Day
