Oh that God would give every mother a vision of the glory and splendor of the work that is given to her when a babe is place in her bosom to be nursed and trained! Could she have but one glimpse in to the future of that life as it reaches on into eternity; could she look into it's soul to see its possibilities; could she be made to understand her own personal responsibility for the training of this child, for the development of its life, and for its destiny,--she would see that in all God's world there is no other work so noble and so worthy of her best powers, and she would commit to no others hands the sacred and holy trust given to her." -JR Miller

A day at the beach

We enjoyed our first day at the beach this year - we are so blessed to live so close to a fair selection of beaches! We can easily go to Cleethorpes, Skegness or Bridlington for a day trip - we chose Brid this time (a favourite place of ours) and packed up the children - oh my you can tell when you are doing your first day trip of a while with searches for sun hats and sun cream and piles of sandwiches that look huge! We remembered our beach tent too!
The day stayed dry, I was very thankful for the tent, you see I don't really like the beach I only started going again for the children - it's the sand! It gets everywhere and in the days before beach tents I always felt fairly exposed and being fair skinned with a tendency to burn seaside trips didn't often go well for me!
But on Saturday we found the tent gave us some protection from the wind in the morning and sun in the afternoon.

All in all it was a really good day, enjoying relaxing and watching the children play
