Oh that God would give every mother a vision of the glory and splendor of the work that is given to her when a babe is place in her bosom to be nursed and trained! Could she have but one glimpse in to the future of that life as it reaches on into eternity; could she look into it's soul to see its possibilities; could she be made to understand her own personal responsibility for the training of this child, for the development of its life, and for its destiny,--she would see that in all God's world there is no other work so noble and so worthy of her best powers, and she would commit to no others hands the sacred and holy trust given to her." -JR Miller

The joys of nursing

I am very proud of myself to still be nursing at 3+ months! What an amazing acheivement - on my 5th baby - after 4 failed attempts, it just goes to show that prayer, support and perseverene is so worth it! I could have easily given up, after baby number 4 where my milk never actually came in, I could have said thats it there's no way I can breastfeed, but I didn't - I cautiously tried again (and it was cautiously) and have so far been successful (mixed feeding) - God is so gracious to us!

I was sat feeding my precious baby this evening and just gazing at her, it's such a great feeling, I admit more often than not when I'm feeding I'm also surfing the net, or reading to the children or doing something but I had just this short time alone with Abigail, the older children were outside with Daddy and I hadn't got the computer out and was just enjoying gazing at my precious baby - special moments!!

It's really true working as nurse is very difficult but fun also to serve our society.
