Oh that God would give every mother a vision of the glory and splendor of the work that is given to her when a babe is place in her bosom to be nursed and trained! Could she have but one glimpse in to the future of that life as it reaches on into eternity; could she look into it's soul to see its possibilities; could she be made to understand her own personal responsibility for the training of this child, for the development of its life, and for its destiny,--she would see that in all God's world there is no other work so noble and so worthy of her best powers, and she would commit to no others hands the sacred and holy trust given to her." -JR Miller

Book Review - Desperate, hope for the Mom who needs to breathe by Sarah Mae and Sally Clarkson

I don't know about you but I absolutely love a good book, and one that encourages and uplifts me in my role as a mother and wife can be like an oasis in a desert.

Let's face it, mothering and being a home builder can be hard work! You can feel like you are going round in circles and doing the same thing endlessly, results are not always instant or obvious, and  usually only as we look back can we see the progress.

Well, I have found the last few years particularly demanding, with 2 needy babies, my first breastfeeding success (they are still both nursed by me) a wonderful thing but it takes a lot of work to establish and maintain a low supply.

Its been easy to feel down and overwhelmed and sometimes you just need a little bit of encouragement

This book that I have been reading has been that bit of encouragement that I needed

Desperate - hope for the Mom who needs to breathe  by Sally Clarkson and Sarah Mae

It reads as letters to and from a mentor (Sally Clarkson) from a Mom in the thick of it (Sarah Mae)

Its honest, and deals with real life, but it doesn't condemn you for not being the "perfect mum" but encourages you to look to Jesus and keep on trying!
